7 Gifts For Christmas In LDRs

I realize that making a present to the person who you love most, on the most special occasion of the year, is something that you want to be unique and memorable. That’s why I am going to dare and give you a few suggestions of gifts that you could prepare for your beloved girlfriend, in a long distance relationship.

This collection of 7 long distance relationship gifts comes from my experience and they have always proven to be appreciated by the girls that I have been lucky enough to have in my life during Christmas.

1. A Special Love Letter.

As simple as it may sound, but sending her a love letter created especially for Christmas could be one of the most romantic gifts your could give her. And I am talking here about a classic letter sent by post, handwritten and decorated with love and passion.

You want to put on paper your feelings for her, your struggles of being apart, your desires and vision of being together in the future and your wishes for the next year. Or anything else that you feel would make her smile and cry and laugh again.

If  for some weird reason, you can’t send her a classic letter by post (which I highly recommend), write one and send it at least on her email. If you put some love and passion into it, she’ll love it.

2. A Special Video.

What about something interesting that you can film, upload to YouTube and send her the (private) link to watch? If you haven’t done that before, or even if you have, creating a special Christmas video for her could be a very unique gift.

The trick here is to film something interesting, something that you’d put some effort into and that will give her an enormous pleasure to watch. So, you’ve got to be creative in this case.

Here’s an example of a video that I once did for my girlfriend’s birthday:

Other video ideas could be: Having an interview where a friend asks you some questions about your relationship and you answer them on camera; Cooking a dish that she taught you; A day of your life; Drawing something for her; Telling her how much you love her; A photo collage with music on the background etc.

Here’s an example of a Romantic Photo Collage that I once did:

3. A Special Diploma.

Simple, but if she’s not expecting it – truly enjoyable and appreciated. I once gave my girlfriend a special diploma for not going out clubbing for 1 month straight (because we agreed so, and she kept the promise) and she was truly surprised and flattered.

The how to part is easy: Google Pictures + Photoshop + A Little Creativity = And it’s done!

For Christmas you can create a special diploma for her being an amazing girlfriend that year, having the most beautiful eyes on earth or having the cutest ass on the planet. You’ve got to be a little creative as well.

Here are a few examples: Example 1, Example 2, Example 3.

4. Send Her A Package.

No matter where you may be located on the globe you can probably send her a package trough international mail or any other means. Thus, you could put together a little package with some souvenirs, lingerie maybe, some clothing accessories, chocolates and maybe even some local foods, and surprise her with a special gift from “Santa”.

One way to take this to the next level is to send it to a friend of hers or a relative (that you can contact on facebook for example) and send the package to that person, asking him/her to put it under the Christmas tree. That could be a great surprise!

5. Chocolates and Flowers.

Yep, that sounds more like a birthday gift, but it could easily work for Christmas as well. Most women love flowers and chocolates, and there’s very few occasions where they wouldn’t enjoy a bouquet of flowers. The idea here is to show that you care more than anything else.

Here you have two options. First, if you can find a flower shop online you could order it directly from your laptop to her door at the date and time that you chose. Second, if you can’t find an online shop (or you wanna save some money) you can ask a friend or relative to be the deliverer.

6. Send Her A Phone Recharge.

Sounds cheesy? Too simple? Or non-romantic at all? Well, it depends how you package it! That’s exactly what I did last year for Christmas.

I asked a friend to buy a phone top-up card and send me the code. Then at 12:00am on 24-th of December I sent her a text with the recharge code of like 10 euros accompanied with a message along the lines of “I hope that every cent of this credit will be spent on priceless love texts that we’ll send each other. Texts that will keep our hearths warm the entire winter.

So, I went trough some troubles asking a friend to help me, but now it’s even easier for you to send her a recharge and a message, if you use the recharge service powered by Ezetop.

7. Order Something Online.

What I mean by that is ordering online a special gift that you know she needs and wants, and getting it delivered to her address. In our time and age this shouldn’t be a problem, especially if you find an online shop in her city/region/state/country and not an international one.

A few long distance relationship gift ideas could be: Tickets to an event/movie/spa, lingerie (always works); Souvenirs; Electronics (web camera, headphones with microphone); Accessories (watch, jewelry), Customized t-shirt, etc.

So, that’s my list of gift ideas or ways to make a gift in a long distance relationship. Feel free to add to the list, and share with the other readers your amazing and unique gift ideas.

Happy shopping and Merry Christmas!

Amazing ideas Livius! Now, I’ve got to sit down and think about which one, or which ones to chose for my girlfriend. And by the way I love the examples that you gave with the diplomas, the photo colage and that nice video. There’s a lot of value in this article, so thank you!

Yeah, those examples are very interesting and they look really good. Too bad some of the ideas seem a little complex…I mean making one of those diplomas that he suggests is not that easy.

      • It’s true making one of those diplomas would require you to know some basic Photoshop knowledge. However, if you simply Google some “diploma” ideas, and some Christmas images, and then putting some text on those pictures (including the word diploma and following the official writing style of a real diploma) it can become easier than you think. It could be done even in Paint. So good luck!

    • Thank you Gigi. You still have time to prepare a great gift for her. So, good luck! 🙂

Yeayy! So grateful of your ideas. Will use one or two of those. 😀 Thank you!
